Christopher Harris

Assistant Professor
Department of Medicine

Christopher Harris is an emergency medicine physician and serves as the assistant ultrasound director for the Section of Emergency Medicine. His recent research has focused on point-of-care ultrasound. He is also interested in medical education, diversity/equity/inclusion, and prehospital care. Earlier, he conducted research on quality assurance of prehospital ultrasounds performed by two different emergency medical services groups in Houston, Texas.

Harris received a BA in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where he was recognized for his mentorship as well as excellence in minority recruitment. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago Medicine, and received numerous honors for professionalism and leadership during that time. Most recently, he was an assistant professor at the Henry J. N. Taub Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed a fellowship in clinical ultrasound at its Ben Taub Hospital.
