Sara Shippee Wallace

Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine

Sara Shippee Wallace is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in joint care. She treats a wide range of common and complex hip and knee conditions, performing such surgical procedures as minimally invasive knee and hip replacements, to restore mobility and reduce joint pain. She has experience managing many causes of arthritis, including osteonecrosis, post-traumatic arthritis, and hip dysplasia, and helping patients who have damaged, painful joints to improve their quality of life.

In addition to providing comprehensive joint care, she is an active researcher committed to investigating the newest treatments and surgical techniques for patients with joint pain and arthritis. Her research has been published in such peer-reviewed publications as the Journal of Arthroplasty, Orthopaedics and Trauma, and the Journal of Women’s Health.

Wallace completed her MD at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, and received her MPH from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Public Health. She completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Washington and a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Rush University Medical Center.
